Morgan is a 35-year-old mother, wife, and travel advisor from North Carolina. She's also a Body Pod user, and loves it so much, she can't help but share.
“I tell everyone I know about it.”

Like many moms, she balances working from home while caring for her young son. Fitness has always been part of her life, but after pregnancy, it became less about performance or aesthetics and more about her day-to-day wellbeing, keeping up with her energetic little boy, and feeling strong enough to care for her family day to day—which was a struggle, because being pregnant left Morgan with unresolved pain.
When Postpartum Pain Doesn’t Resolve
During her pregnancy, Morgan developed persistent pain that needed regular treatment.
“I had a lot of hip pain and was at the chiropractor weekly just for some relief.”
While she remained active during her pregnancy despite pain issues, her workouts naturally had to be scaled back significantly, and her overall mobility suffered.
After her son was born, the pain never went away. Even after waiting the recommended six weeks before returning to exercise, Morgan noticed that her stamina had dropped, her strength was noticeably reduced, and her hip pain lingered despite frequent walking.
“It was pretty disheartening, especially when I already felt like I was living in someone else's body,” Morgan said.
The Problem with One-Size-Fits-All Recovery
In an effort to feel better, Morgan tried a variety of programs and approaches, but nothing was a fit for her individual needs. Many methods ultimately caused more harm.
“I tried just about everything,” she says. “Program after program, fad after fad, and found that most of them focused on weight loss. I have always been a small person, but this caused me to become dangerously thin and I still wasn't getting the results I wanted.”
Morgan lost an unhealthy amount of weight and didn’t experience any improvements in strength, balance, or pain relief. Despite doing “everything right,” solutions felt out of reach.
Like many people working on fitness goals, Morgan didn’t lack discipline or motivation. She just needed clarity on what was happening with her body.
The Turning Point: Access to Your Own Health Data
“When I purchased the Body Pod, I was really shocked to see the drastic difference in muscle mass on both sides of my body.”
When Morgan began using the Hume Health Body Pod, she finally had data that explained what her body was experiencing.
“When I purchased the Body Pod, I was really shocked to see the drastic difference in muscle mass on both sides of my body. My dominant side was much stronger, as that was the side I was primarily carrying my son.”
In addition to a significant muscle imbalance between the left and right sides of her body, her Body Pod data also showed that her body fat levels were too low to properly support postpartum recovery.
“This allowed me to look into nutrition to support my goals and gave me the information to really tailor my health and fitness to me, without having to pay multiple specialists.”
The insights, she says, gave her a path to her hip pain relief, healthy body fat levels, and balanced muscle gains. She shifted her focus away from weight loss, adjusted her training to target asymmetries, and make dietary choices that supported recovery instead of restriction.
As her muscle balance improved, her hip pain decreased dramatically. For the first time since pregnancy, her body began responding in a way that felt sustainable and encouraging.
Rather than cycling through trends or relying on guesswork, Morgan was able to personalize her health and fitness using one consistent, objective source of data, without needing multiple specialists or expensive custom plans.

Why Health Data Matters in Postpartum Recovery
“I like facts,” Morgan says. “After childbirth, it’s hard to know what’s actually happening in your body, especially when hormones are all over the place.”
She says the Hume Health Body Pod gave her the ability to make informed decisions based on what her body truly needed, not what was popular or based on the little information traditional scales provide. Many of the most important insights—like dangerously low body fat—would have been impossible to identify without precise measurement.
Clinical-Grade Body Composition at Home
“It allows me to fit body composition tracking into my schedule, and I have more access to more data because I can scan multiple times per week instead of quarterly.”
Morgan says being able to use the Body Pod easily and accessibly at home has been key for her recovery process. As the primary caregiver for her son, in-clinic body composition scans weren’t realistic because scheduling multiple DEXA scans each year is expensive and time-consuming.
“Having the Body Pod in my home makes it so easy to just hop on for a scan during my nighttime routine,” Morgan says. “It allows me to fit body composition tracking into my schedule, and I have more access to more data because I can scan multiple times per week instead of quarterly.”
She also appreciates how intuitive the app feels, with clear explanations that make the data easy to understand and apply.
“The Hume app is super user friendly, and using the free version makes it a no-brainer in my book,” she says.
Beyond Pain Relief: Energy, Sleep, and Overall Wellbeing
Morgan found that the benefits of having access to her health date extended beyond reduced pain. She became more aware of her nutritional needs, which positively affected her energy levels and sleep quality, improving her overall wellbeing.
